On Tour in Minneapolis, MN Part 1
Today we set out on the Minneapolis to Lake Owen tour. We picked up Michael Collins, Alex Broskow, and Brenton Wheeler and were on our happy way. The party bus got started a little early as “someone” was chasing the tail of a rough night. We decided to stop in Des Moines, IA and check out the local scene. Ended up with a sweet mizou grind to kick off the festivities before the profiling began. The day before tour I painted the van a bright powder blue and added some “sweet” silver zebra stripes. Turns out this is a shinning beacon to the police. We stopped at the Capitol building and a bike cop asked Brenton to put on his shirt and then proceeded to write down my license plate number and ride off. Shortly after I pushed through a yellow light that turned red. 10 minutes passed as we looked for skate spots and suddenly there were lights behind us. I rolled down the window and was greeted by a menacing “Remember ME?” It was the rookie asshole from the bike. He decided to search our car, call in backup, and then release us 10 minutes later without as much as a ticket. Weird. We drove through the night and caught the last 15 minutes of the Colbeer report as the party van lights dimmed and Michael fell asleep. We pulled up to the Garlinghouse home and were greeted with a friendly smile and some killer nachos. Thanks Mike.
More to come tomorrow as we pick up Don Bambrick, Chris Haffey, and Chris Farmer.
