So we haven’t missed a Hoe Down in 7 years, which is a pretty big deal because the only other contest we have attended so frequently is Superhick. Unfortunately this was the last year that the Hoedown will be at its’ current location, which is good because people won the contest doing some things that had been done in years past and it seemed that nothing really new has been done since Shima and Feinberg killed the place. That is the least of the worries for us because shortly after stopping in Oklahoma City our fuel pump decided it was pissed and stopped working. Michael Collins, Broski, Mateer, and Nice Nick sat in the van patiently, without booze, until old man river could come and tow us to Nowheresville, population losers. In Nowheresville there is nowhere to buy alcohol, there are no bars in Nowheresville, and of most important note, Nowheresville is full of white supremacists.
Now we had to go sneaking Michael around and I got the pleasure of hanging out with Skeeter and Buck while they fixed my fuel pump. I can’t in sound mind relay the “hilarious (read racist) jokes” that they told me unabashedly, but believe you me, the confederate flag truck tells it all. Now it would be alright if they fixed the van properly, however, every time I fill up the van I can only fill it 3/4 full or else gasoline comes shooting out of the back. Note: when I die in a van explosion please point out the fact that I knew I was going to die because of Skeeter and Buck.
On the road again to Dallas to stay at Farmer’s house and the rest of the weekend went off without any crazy shit happening. Sold a bunch of tees and wheels at the tradeshow, got to kick it with my main man Matty, Ben, and the rest, and we came across Eddie Bravo, supporter of the year with his Icon tattoo.
Thanks to everyone who came by the booth and showed love, Haffey and Farmer Jeans hit stores early December and the Vibralux Team Video “On Top” will be soon to follow.
If anyone knows who won the contest let me know, and tell them our booth made more $$$ JK
PS looks like IAN stole the Street Artist box!
